Some weddings stay with me because of the setting. Others because of the styling, the music, or the people in the room. Steph and Rob’s wedding at Solberge Hall had all of that and more!
Solberge Hall, just outside Northallerton, has been renovated and is a stylish, luxurious wedding venue with an amazing team; I'm also a recommended supplier and I love performing there.
The day had elegance, but it also had personality. Nothing felt overdone. Nothing felt like it was there just for show. Every part of it seemed to reflect them, from the way guests arrived and settled in, to the music, the laughter, and the energy on the dance floor later in the evening.
Steph & Rob booked me for the full day with my Ultimate Package, meaning it was going to be a day filled with magical moments.
The atmosphere felt calm from the very start
I always love weddings where guests feel comfortable straight away. Steph and Rob’s family and friends had that kind of warmth. Conversations started easily. People smiled without being prompted. There was a real sense that everyone had come together not just for a formal occasion, but for a proper celebration of two people they loved.
The creative team captured the personality of the day
A wedding like this depends on the right suppliers. Not just talented people, but people who understand how to add to the day without taking over. Steph and Rob had a brilliant team around them.
Bethany Clarke Photography photographed the day, and there was a real sense of care in the way the moments were captured. Wedding photography works best when it preserves the feeling as well as the look of the day, and Bethany’s presence suited the atmosphere so well.
Danielle Dewhurst (A Film Forever), was the content creator. Wedding content creation can catch the movement and energy of a day in a very immediate way. The smiles between guests, the behind-the-scenes details, the little bursts of joy that can pass in seconds, all of it becomes part of the story.
The music brought every part of the celebration to life
Music played a huge part in the day. It shaped the atmosphere without ever feeling forced.
Rebecca Diamond Music brought live vocals into the celebration, and live singing always adds something special. She has an amazing voice!!
You can't go wrong with 24 Live, the acoustic singers, added that relaxed live music feel that works so well at a wedding like this. I've worked with Andy on many occasions and he always brings the vibe.
Later, Jonny Ross Music kept the energy going with the DJ set. A good wedding DJ reads the room, builds the night properly, and knows when to lift things. That matters because the evening reception is where the day changes gear. Formalities fade, shoes come off, and everyone gets to celebrate without holding back.
By the time the evening was in full flow, the music had done exactly what it needed to do. It brought people together.
Solberge Hall gave the day room to breathe
The team at Solberge Hall are a machine without being overbearing. They want your wedding to be exactly how you envision it and they make sure the energy continues throughout the day.
That matters more than people sometimes realise. A good venue does not just look beautiful in photos. It supports the rhythm of the day. It gives guests space to gather, moments to pause, and places where the couple can take everything in.
For Steph and Rob, Solberge Hall offered that balance. It felt grand enough for a special occasion, but still welcoming. The Northallerton setting added to the sense of escape, giving everyone the feeling of stepping out of normal life for the day.
